Parish Continues Sunday Service Despite No A/C

DALLAS (CBS 11 News) ― There was no relief from Sunday's heat in one Dallas church.

But the sins of would-be thieves couldn't keep parishioners of the Calvary Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church from praising the Lord.

They showed up with fans in their hands and continued Sunday service as planned.

Police say a thief tried to steal copper wiring from the church's air conditioning unit Saturday.

A parishioner who happened to be mowing the church's yard caught the thief red-handed.

But the thief was able to get away, leaving the cut copper in the grass and the church without air conditioning.

No arrests have been made.
