Holiday Weekend Will Be Hot As A Firecracker

FORT WORTH (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Friday Evening: The high at DFW hit at least 100 degrees on Friday, and the evening looks to remain hot for all the fireworks shows across North Texas, just one day ahead of the Fourth of July. Expect temperatures to stay in the 90s through 10:00 p.m.

Friday Night: Mostly clear with a low of 80 degrees.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, but a few clouds will arrive in the afternoon. Temperatures will be hot again, with a high of 101 degrees.

Saturday Evening: Partly cloudy and hot with temperatures in the 90s. Showers and storms will be approaching the Red River by fireworks time on Saturday evening, but no rain is expected in the Metroplex.

Saturday Night: Showers and thunderstorms will be widespread throughout the area during the overnight hours.

Sunday: Showers and storms mainly in the morning, but a few more showers and storms will be possible in the afternoon. Expect it to be considerably cooler, with a high of only 92 degrees.

Monday: Mostly cloudy skies with a few more showers and thunderstorms. Look for temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s.

Tuesday: Partly sunny with a lingering shower or storm, but starting to dry out. Look for highs in the mid-90s.

Wednesday & Thursday: Heating back up toward triple digits, with maybe a very isolated storm in the afternoon, but very low rain chances.
