Teen Missing After Boat Accident On Ray Hubbard
ROCKWALL (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
High wind suspended the search for a missing teen on Lake Ray Hubbard Sunday.
The teen, identified as
Brandon Fugate of Garland, was trying to fix a mechanical problem on a small fishing boat that overturned Saturday night.
Two other teens were rescued when a nearby boater heard their call for help. The two had swam together for heat and to hold onto the boat while Brandon tried to swim to shore.
Rescue teams spent much of Saturday evening searching for the missing 19-year-old. A police helicopter flew about the lake for several hours while game wardens searched the water.
Sgt. Christopher Harmony with the Dallas Police Department says it is unlikely rescuers will find the teen alive. The other teens are said to be in Good condition.
Dallas Police say none of the teens were wearing required life jackets.
On Monday crews will determine if they will be able to continue the search.
