Mansfield Residents Join Forces To Help Sick Girl

MANSFIELD (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Just a few weeks ago, Haley Hart was a healthy, vibrant toddler.

But a pain in her side sent her to the hospital. Now, every breath she takes is a miracle.

The four-year-old's parents, Kristen and Richard Hart, have been by her bedside at the pediatric intensive care unit at Cook Children's Medical Center since December 29.

That's when Haley was diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer known as Wilms' Tumor.

On New Year's Day, doctors removed her cancerous kidney. However, her other kidney failed. The cancer has now spread to her lungs.

While she's in intensive care on a ventilator, many in Mansfield are singing their hearts out for Haley.

A benefit concert will be held for her this Saturday at the Horseman Club in Fort Worth, located at 4750 Bryant Irvin Road, Suite 868.

Nine bands are scheduled to perform, and a variety of autographed merchandise will be auctioned off. All proceeds will go to Haley's family.
