Son Saves Parents Inside Burning Euless Home

EULESS (CBS 11 News) ― A son was badly burned while trying to save his parents from their burning mobile home in Euless.

Firefighters arrived at the scene shortly after 3:00 a.m. Monday morning. At that point, officials said that the home was fully engulfed, but the Stefano family was already standing outside.

The family's 25-year-old son was luckily arriving home just as the flames started breaking out. He was able to warn his parents in time and get them outside safely.

"My son came in and woke us up and said the living room was on fire," said Lisa Stefano. "So, we were just barely able to get out. As soon as we opened the door to run outside, it almost blew up. I mean, it started spreading like crazy."

The son suffered cuts and burns trying to save two family pets. Those pets did not make it out.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
