Hammers Help Thieves Rob NorthPark Jewelry Store

DALLAS (CBS 11 News) ― At least five men wearing dark clothing rushed into the Ben Bridge jewelry store in the NorthPark Center at about 10:45 a.m. Monday morning.

One of the men detained a security guard at the door so that he would not hit the store alarm. The other men pulled out sledgehammers from under their clothes and started smashing display cases.

One of the robbers may have been carrying a gun.

The thieves fled from the scene on foot, heading toward the west side of the mall, carrying an undetermined amount of watches.

The case is still under investigation. Police are now reviewing store surveillance video to see if it captured a good shot of the thieves.

No arrests have been made.
