Hurst Police Arrest Another In Putt-Putt Murder
HURST (CBS 11 News) ―
Police have arrested a second suspect in the shooting death of a miniature golf course manger.
Hurst Police arrested Mark Porter a week after the shooting death of Jonas Cherry, who investigators said was shot at close range at the Putt-Putt Fun Center at Loop 820 and Highway 183 in Hurst, near Northeast Mall.
Bond for the 20-year-old Porter was set at $500,000. On Friday, Paul Storey was arrested charged with capital murder.
On Monday, members of a Fort Worth dive team and Hurst police searched Lake Arlington for evidence from the shooting scene.
Cherry's body was found in the main building at the location about 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 16.
His family said Jonas had worked at the venue for more than a decade.
Jonas was about to celebrate his first wedding anniversary and his father said the 28-year-old had new goals in mind.
The newlywed was planning to open his own bowling alley and had recently bought into a bar that was set to open Oct. 19, the same the day of his funeral.
