Some North Texas women are getting acupuncture for quick-fix facelifts.
Acupuncturist Dr. Qiong Bai said sticking needles on a certain point releases blood and collagen and relaxes the tension in facial muscles. Dr. Bai also said the tiny needles help improve the texture of skin and eliminate age spots. The maximum results, he adds, occur after about ten treatments.
However, Dallas plastic surgeon Rod Rohrich said there are no promises. He and his staff at U. T. Southwestern are hosting a public seminar on May 14 to discuss what they consider to be the safest cosmetic options.
