For the first time, Byron and Marilyn Woolsey are speaking about the random act that killed their 41-year-old son Kenneth Woolsey.
"It was such a shock to hear about it," said Byron Woolsey.
Two years ago this month, a suspect shot and killed Kenneth in what police call road rage.
It happened at the intersection of Walnut Street and Abrams in Dallas near Richardson.
"I really try not to think about it because it makes me so sad," said Marilyn.
To this day, Dallas police say they have no suspect and no leads to pursue.
A sketch of the gunman was released two years ago.
Byron Woolsey says the family hopes someone will call police with a good tip. "For goodness sake, please, please, please, turn it in."
Kenneth was sitting in the front passenger seat. His wife was driving, and their nine-year-old son was in back when the suspect fired the deadly shots.
For her part, Woolsey's wife has moved out of the Dallas-Fort Worth area with their son. She has declined all requests for an interview.
"She's afraid that this guy's going to see this," said Byron. "Put yourself in that position. You can imagine the trauma."
Kenneth Woolsey, his wife and son had just returned to North Texas after living in England for eight years.
The night before the shooting, the Woolsey family celebrated the homecoming at a Richardson restaurant.
"It was a great time because we laughed and talked, just really enjoyed the company and being together like that for the first time in so long," said Byron.
Now, all the Woolseys can do is take comfort in their memories. "We were very fortunate to have a son like that. We felt very proud of him and very lucky because he was a good kid."
