Teens Accused Of Killing Mom Brought Back To Texas

ROANOKE (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Three teenagers accused of murdering a Roanoke mother are back in Texas and have been processed at the Denton County Jail.

Susan Bailey was found dead Sunday. Bailey's daughter and son are among the teens accused in her death.

Police say 17-year-old Jennifer Bailey, her 14-year-old brother and 16-year-old boyfriend beat and stabbed 43-year-old Susan Bailey before taking the woman's car and fleeing north.

A Roanoke police officer escorted them back from South Dakota, where they were caught earlier this week.

The three are accused of using a baseball bat and stabbing Susan Bailey to death. Jennifer is being prosecuted as an adult. The two boys are being processed in the juvenile system.

On Wednesday, investigators with the Texas Rangers, Denton County Sheriff's Department and Roanoke Police Department, re-entered the home of Susan Bailey to re-examine the murder scene. They say they're trying to find specific evidence to figure out the roll each teen played in the crime.

Neighbors say Susan Bailey and her daughter had argued about the teen's relationship with the 16-year-old boyfriend. The boyfriend's father told CBS 11 News, "I believe he's innocent because it's not in his nature to be violent. I've never seen him be violent to animals, and we have lots of animals around here."

The father went on to say, "I'm backing him 100 percent. I think he was in the wrong place at the wrong time."

Neighbors also say that both Baileys' daughter and son showed the effects of a rough breakup between Susan and her husband.

"He was trying to convince my son to sneak out of the house, in the middle of the night, and things like that," explained neighbor Cecelia Pousson. "I thought that was a little strange. And I think he told [my son] Chandler a few times about his parents fighting a lot."

The three teenagers were in Susan Bailey's car when they were stopped in South Dakota, earlier this week. Investigators are now hoping the three will give them more details about exactly what happened this past weekend.
