Hurst Police Look For Putt-Putt Employee's Killer
by Joel Thomas
HURST (CBS 11 News) ―
Police are looking for the person who killed an employee of the Putt-Putt Fun Center at Loop 820 and Highway 183 in Hurst, near the Northeast Mall.
According to officials, the body of the employee was found in the clubhouse, the main building at the location, around 9:30 a.m. Monday morning by another employee who was just showing up for work.
The victim appears to have been shot to death. Investigators are looking into the possibility of robbery as a motive, although police cannot figure out what, if anything, was stolen.
A maroon Ford Explorer was videotaped leaving the scene just before the body was found. That tape shows the car's flashers turned on, and the hood up. The hood then drops when the car hits a speed bump.
Police do not know whether this car belongs to a witness who may have helpful information, or if the driver was faking a breakdown as a diversion.
Sgt. Craig Teague with the Hurst Police said, "We would be interested in finding that vehicle, and the people who were in that vehicle, to find out their knowledge of what transpired today, and also if they were actual suspects or people who happened to be passing through at that time."
