Alleged DISD Employee-Student Assault Investigated
DALLAS (CBS 11 News) ―
A Dallas school employee remains off the job and faces felony charges, after he allegedly hit a female student in the face.
The alleged incident happened Thursday at Robert T. Hill Middle School on Easton Road.
It's another case where the adult paid to watch over students, is accused of hurting one of them.
School officials confirm Willard Jordan is the man in question. Jordan is a security hall monitor at Hill. He was arrested on charges of 'felony injury to a child'.
"A student was injured in this particular situation," said DISD Spokesman Jon Dahlander. "Obviously it's of grave concern to us, but the student appears to be fine. And we've taken action by recommending that the individual involved be charged."
It's believed Jordan slapped the teenager so hard that her nose started bleeding. Police were called soon after.
On the campus Friday, many parents said they had no idea the alleged assault had occurred. "That's unacceptable," said parent Jill Smith. "That should show that they need to monitor a little closer what goes on within the school."
CBS 11 News was told that on Wednesday Jordan and the student were 'play boxing' in the hallway. The alleged incident on Thursday reportedly happened after the student hit Jordan and he retaliated by slapping her.
The student has been reprimanded by the school.
Friday evening Jordan remained in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,500 bond and is on administrative leave from his job until the investigation is complete.
