Car Crashes Into Saginaw Family's New Home
SAGINAW (CBS 11 News) ―
Police in Saginaw say a teenage driver crashed into a home on Greenway Drive around 11 p.m. Saturday.
The family inside was getting ready for their first night in their new home. The homeowners were bringing in a second load of furniture when the car plowed into the corner room.
Raven Jones, 8, was in the room at the time of the crash. She was keeping the two family cats calm during the move. Raven was sitting on the bed when the car hit the wall and shoved everything forward, trapping her beneath.
Raven's older sister Jenni Miller, 17, ran into the room. "She came in the room and she got everything off of my leg and she pulled me out," said Raven.
Raven only has a bruise on her knee from the ordeal.
The room belongs to the girls' other sister, 12-year-old Jade. Had she been home at the time of the crash, she said she would have been putting things into a dresser, which was directly in line with the crash.
"I just wanted to go up to the guy and ask him and shake him and say, 'What were you thinking?'" said Jenni.
The Camaro plowed into a tree before crashing into the home, causing the car to slow down before impacting the house.
