Dallas Police Officer Faces Bribery Charges

DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― A Dallas police officer is on administrative leave after being accused of bribing a Vietnamese family.

Sr. Cpl. Minh Tran was arrested at 7 p.m. Wednesday night in the 2300 block of Lakeland Drive. The bribery he faces is a 2nd degree felony.

T ran is accused of demanding and receiving money from the Vietnamese family in exchange for not reporting potential violations of gambling laws.

After the completion of an investigation and undercover operation, Tran was taken into custody without incident.
 

Tran, who has been with the Dallas Police Department since September 2001, is assigned to the Northeast Patrol Division.

The Sr. Cpl. will remain on leave pending the completion of an internal affairs investigation.
