Nearly two months later, a group of Vietnamese Catholics returned Sunday to the site of a deadly bus crash in Sherman.
They don't have to say a word, their faces say it all. Walking off buses, a group from Houston returns and prays where there are so many bad memories.
Thiep Bui struggles "I remember they pulled me out and put me down around here." He survived the crash. "When I came back, the first thing I feel is sad because some of my brother and sisters are gone."
Nearly two months later, the crash victim's families thank all of the emergency crews that were at the scene.
"Without a doubt, it was the hardest day our department has ever been through." Says Sherman Police Chief Tom Watt.
Investigators have said the bus was operating illegally when it blew a tire, smashed into a guardrail and tipped over. Nguyen Holly says she still can't believe it, she lost her dad that day.
"We all missed him a lot but I think I'm happy that he is in heaven now."
The group that went to Sherman Sunday wants reform; they have even gone to Washington and are talking to lawmakers about better safety regulations when it comes to tour busses. They want seat belts on the buses and better training for drivers.
Seventeen people were killed and 38 more were injured after their tour bus crashed on the morning of August 8. The group was on their way to a religious festival in Missouri.
A rose was left Sunday for each of those that died; balloons were also released in their memory.
