Small Earthquake Shakes Mid Cities
ARLINGTON (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
A magnitude 3.3 earthquake gave many residents in the mid-cities area a good shaking Saturday morning.
The U. S. Geological Survey reports the earthquake was centered in North Arlington, but felt mainly in Bedford, Euless and Irving.
There have been reports of smaller aftershocks this afternoon, none have been reported as being as strong as the original earthquake this morning.
The USGS office in Golden, Coloardo says they have a report of one aftershock after the initial earthquake. The aftershock registered between 2.0 and 2.5 on the richter scale.

The National Weather Service also recieved reports of the quake.
Here is their report.
DFW airport and the Trinity Railway Express say they felt the earthquake, but the tremor had no impact on transportation services.
There have been no reports of damage due to the quake.
UT Dallas Geosciences professor Dr. John Ferguson tells CBS 11 the cause of the quakes could be from natural gas drilling that has been taking place in the North Arlington.
"It's possible the induced seismicity is associated with gas production. This wouldn't be unexpected by earthquake seismologists."
Saturday's earthquake was roughly eight miles west of an earthquake that occured on October 31. That earthquake was slightly smaller than Saturday's earthquake at 3.0 on the richter scale.
