N. Texas Dentist Arrested On Sexual Assault Charge

COPPELL (CBS 11 News) ― A Flower Mound dentist has been arrested - indicted on a charge of attempted sexual assault.

Dr. Spencer Lee Page works for 6 Day Dental and Orthodontics in Coppell and Flower Mound.

An indictment, which was sealed until his arrest, accuses Page of placing his hands down the pants of a female patient who had not consented.

The indictment also states that the 32-year-old defendant knew at the time of the alleged assault, on March 23, that the subject was unconscious or physically unable to resist.

Page was out of the Denton County jail Tuesday evening on a $10,000 bond.

He spoke exclusively to CBS 11 News, denying any wrong doing. "It's just unfortunate that it's got to this point," said Page. "There's no truth to anything."

Page was taken into custody Tuesday at a Taco Bell by Denton County Sheriff's officials and booked into the Denton County jail. He was reportedly arrested during lunch while he dined with his wife and daughter.

Page said he is not sure what will happen to his dental practice, but he is confident the charges will be dropped. "I just hope I get as much attention when the charges are dropped as when they're brought forth," said Page.

A worker at the 6 Day Dental and Orthodontics corporate office at 120 S. Denton Tap Road in Coppell expressed shocked over the arrest. Page shares offices with other dentists and orthodontists.

In a statement released late Tuesday afternoon, the company said in part - "The Flower Mound Police Department is investigating a charge involving a dentist at our Flower Mound office. Of course, were concerned about the issue and we welcome an investigation to get all the facts out. There is a great deal of information that we don't have. We'll cooperate fully in any investigation."

While officials with 6 Day Dental say their offices are, "…run according to extremely high, thorough standards," some other dental patients are concerned.

"Obviously that makes me feel uncomfortable. Because I think that's something that everybody hopes would never happen," said 6 Day Dental patient Keri Kembel. "You hope that you can trust your dentist. You're trusting so much to them when you go under anesthesia."

While Page would not comment on the alleged victim, he did say he didn't know how or why the allegations came about.

Page, who has no prior police record, is a graduate of Baylor University and is licensed by the State of Texas in the area of sedation dentistry.
