Frogs Win Mountain West Baseball Crown

FORT WORTH (AP) ―

Clint Arnold went 6-for-6 with a homer and five RBIs as TCU beat New Mexico 15-2 on Saturday to win the Mountain West Conference tournament title.

TCU (43-17) pounded out 19 hits en route to securing its fifth straight NCAA regional appearance.

Arnold, the tournament MVP, also had a pair of doubles and was 12-of-18 for the tournament.

Reliever Dillon Farish (1-1) got the win, giving up no runs on two hits in 2 2/3 innings. He struck out one and walked none. Five Horned Frogs hurlers surrendered a total of just six hits. The Lobos committed two errors.

Ben Carruthers went 3-for-6 and scored four runs for TCU.

Matt Hibbitts was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for New Mexico (34-25).

Lobos starter Will Kerr (3-4) took the loss, giving up five runs -- two earned -- on four hits. He struck out one and walked one in 1 2/3 innings.
