3 Tarrant County Bank Robberies In Two Hours

This is a surveillance picture of the man who robbed the OmniAmerican Bank at 1000 Pennsylvania Ave., in Fort Worth.

Monday afternoon police were on the lookout for
three separate bank robbers.
Banks on Pennsylvania and Alta Mesa, in Fort Worth and a bank on North Beach, in Haltom City, were held up Monday. All three of the robberies occurred within two hours time.
The OmniAmerican Bank was the first bank robbed. The bank, located on Pennsylvania Avenue, was hit just before noon. Fort Worth police think a serial bank robber struck at that one. Police think the robber may be responsible for as many as five other recent bank robberies in the area.
According to witnesses, the suspect entered the bank and stood in line before approaching the teller. When the suspect approached the window he handed over a robbery demand note, while holding a cell phone to his head.
Police describe the suspect as a white male, with red hair. The suspect is believed to be 25-30 years old, standing 5"4', and weighing 150 pounds. The man was last seen wearing a green and white baseball cap, blue jeans, and plaid shirt.
The second robbery occurred around 1 p.m. at the First Convenience Bank in the 3500-block of Alta Mesa Blvd. Police searched the area for the robber to no avail.
Police believe the robber at this location was probably a novice because he or she handed the teller a note but got scared and took off before getting any cash.
The third, and last, bank robbery occurred at the Wachovia Bank in the 5300-block of North Beach, in Haltom City. Detectives have released no details about the actual robbery, but say they are still trying to track down the thief.
