Rangers Recall 3 From Minors, Move Eyre To DL
ARLINGTON (AP) ―
The Texas Rangers on Tuesday called up left-handers A.J. Murray and Bill White and outfielder Freddy Guzman from the minor leagues and moved right-hander Willie Eyre to the 60-day disabled list.
Murray was 0-1 with a 5.00 ERA in eight games for the Rangers earlier this season. He was 3-3 with five saves and a 3.08 ERA with Triple-A Oklahoma.
White was 2-0 with two saves and a 4.44 ERA in 43 games at Double-A Frisco. He pitched once for Oklahoma in April after signing with the Rangers as a free agent following his release by Washington.
Guzman spent all season in Oklahoma after playing parts of last season for the Rangers. He led Triple-A baseball with 56 steals this year, hitting .269 with four home runs and 34 RBIs.
Eyre, who had elbow ligament replacement surgery last month, was 4-6 with a save and a 5.16 ERA in 33 games, including two starts, for the Rangers. He went on the 15-day disabled list Aug. 18.
