Police Bust Food Mart For Selling Drug Items

THE COLONY (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Two convenience store workers in The Colony were arrested Friday for selling drug paraphernalia to both adults and minors.

After an undercover sting that lasted several months, police  arrested Bikesh Karmacharya and Riaz H. Rajput at the First Choice Food Mart on Main Street, north of Highway 121 for selling "crack-pipes" and other drug-items.

Police said the paraphernalia was kept hidden from view and in a locked cabinet.

The employees were careful and would only sell to people they knew or who they were comfortable selling to, police explained.

The crimes are considered a felony and punishable a sentence of not more than two years or less than 180 days and up to a $10,000 fine.

Officials also seized more than $2,6000  in cash and added additional warrants have been issued for people who were not at the store during the arrests.
