Victim Asks FWPD To Drop Charges Against His 'Bro'

FORT WORTH (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Fort Worth police and SWAT officers converged on a Fort Worth neighborhood Thursday afternoon, looking for a suspect involved in a shooting.

Police say the shooting happened around 2 p.m. at a Food Mart on the 4600 block of Miller.

The store owner said she heard men and women arguing loudly outside the store. She asked them to leave, and took other customers inside the store. That's when she heard a pop.

Police say the argument involved a 17-year-old suspect, his girlfriends and his friend - the shooting victim. According to police, the argument started with the two women and then the two men got involved.

The victim told police he punched the suspect in the face. The suspect quickly pulled a gun from his waist band, and the victim ran across the street. He got as far as the bus stop when he was shot in the leg.

Police say the suspect then fled to his residence on Miller Ave. SWAT officers were called to the scene.

However, police say "after further investigation the victim decided not to cooperate or press charges citing that the suspect is his 'bro' and all is forgiven."

The victim was treated at JPS Hospital.
