Thieves Hit Arlington Stores During Smash & Grabs
(CBS 11 News)
Arlington police are investigating a pair of smash and grabs where the thieves made off with the cash from ATMs from two pharmacies miles from each other.
The robberies happened within 30 minutes of each other and officials are considering a connection.
The first one happened at the CVS Pharmacy at 3401 S Collins St. The Walgreens at 5600 New York Ave. was the next target.
Investigators say in both cases the thieves rammed through the front doors and then ripped the ATM from its base before splitting the machine in two.
The thieves took off with the cash from the machine.
Police will review surveillance video.
