Retailers Offering Pre-'Black Friday' Deals

The holiday season is approaching and retailers who have seen a drop in sales are hoping pre-Black Friday sales will bring them some needed cheer.
Click here for a list of sites featuring special deals.The U.S. Commerce Department says retail sales fell by 2.8 percent last month. The effects can be seen all over.
Circuit City recently filed for bankruptcy. Best Buy reportedly was down in the third quarter by more than 7-percent. Specialty clothing was down last month by more than 1-percent.
Locally-based Pier One projects sales to be down 16-18 percent in the third quarter compared to last year.
"Sales have been tough, but we are hanging in there hoping for positive holiday season," said Kelly Keenum, public relations manager for Pier 1.
Tina Marsh says she's making sugar cookies for Christmas.
"It's a realization that you don't know what's happening in the future, and you just want to take care of your family and hold on to what you have," she said.
However Nicole Gutierez is not holding back. "It's still Christmas and when you still have kids, you have to act according to plan," she said.
Some shoppers said now that gas prices are down, they will buy the usual amount of presents, but no doubt most are looking for deals.
