Body Of Young Woman Found Burned In Carrollton

CARROLLTON (CBS 11 News) ― Carrollton police made a gruesome discovery Tuesday when they found the body of a burned woman.

She was found in a grassy area near a business parking lot in the 3200 of Keller Springs Road.

Police believe she was dumped there overnight and set on fire.

They say she is either Caucasian or Hispanic, between the ages of 15 and 25 and around 5'6". She was partially clothed and so badly burned that identifying her may take some time.

People who work in the area say they are stunned by the discovery.

"Pretty much everybody is just shocked," said Victor Avina, a TransTech employee. "They came to work, from lunch, to find all police cars out here."

Carrolton police are trying to find out if there are any reports of a missing woman in the area.
