Theron Lacy Junior is now in jail, charged with capital murder. He stands accused of killing Dorothy Reiter.

Reiter, a 67-year-old Cedar Hill woman was found lying in the street near her home last Tuesday morning. Investigators say Reiter was out for her daily walk when she was attacked, robbed, and stabbed.

"Crimes like this aren't supposed to happen in peaceful neighborhoods like ours. Our community was truly shocked and saddened for the family and friends of Ms. Reiter," said Cedar Hill Mayor Rob Franke.
