DPD: Thieves Steal Car With Toddler Inside

DALLAS (CBS 11 News) ― Dallas Police said the search continues for a second person involved with carjacking a grandmother and her granddaughter Wednesday night.

Police said two men stole the woman's car when the grandmother got out to get her 2-year-old granddaughter, who was in the backseat.

The family was in a McDonald's parking lot in the 2200 block of South Buckner in Dallas.

"She said a guy hit her in the back of the head, and she fell down," said Alfred Thomas, a family member of the victims. "The next thing you know, she raised up and the guy was in the car driving off. One suspect ran around the McDonald' and jumped in another car."

Police said they find the crashed car three or four miles away on the 7400 hundred block of Dangerfield Dr., where police were able to capture one of the alleged carjackers.

The girl and her grandmother were not hurt.
