Traffic Near Cowboys Stadium Expected To Get Worse

ARLINGTON (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
Terri Lasseter has lived in her Arlington house for 21 years. Now she's in the shadows of the Rangers Ballpark at Arlington and the new Cowboys stadium.
She says when the Rangers play, it takes them as long as an hour to get out of their neighborhood. She worries about Cowboys games next year.
Getting to and from the stadium will initially be a challenge. There won't be a new interchange for I-30 and SH-360 until 2025.
But TxDOT is building three bridges over I-30, including one opening in January at Center Street and a new one at Collins that won't open until the fall of 2010.
Keith Melton is Arlington's chief traffic planner. He says once the construction projects on I-30 are done, it should also reduce traffic. He says the key is educating those attending games.
Just last week, Melton said the Dallas Cowboys sent the city a traffic plan about how they'll get fans to the stadium smoothly.
