1 Injured, 8 Families Displaced By Dallas Fire

DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Firefighters were called out to the 9100 block of Forest Lane to an apartment fire around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators say the fire started in a second-floor unit at the Advenir at Forest Lane Apartments.

Officials say an elderly victim had to be rescued from the second story balcony. The man was taken to Parkland Hospital with burns to his face and lower extremities.

The Red Cross is helping the eight families that were displaced.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the two-alarm fire a little after 7 p.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
