Dallas Police: Three Dead In Double Murder-Suicide

DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Dallas police say an estranged husband killed his wife and mother-in-law before killing himself.

The shootings happened inside a house on the 9600 block of Michael Lane in East Dallas. The house is located across the street from the Eastfield College campus, near Dallas' border with Mesquite.

Police tell CBS 11 News three generations of women lived at the house: 25-year-old Janice Hill, her mother Jeanne Carroll and her grandmother. Hill was married, but according to police her estranged husband, 26-year-old Keith Hill, did not live at the house.

Police also say there is a history of domestic violence between Janice and Keith, and she had recently obtained a protective order against him. Police say over the weekend she accused him of making harassing calls.

Records show Keith was arrested last month for assaulting her and had been arrested for aggravated assault three times over the last year.

Officers say at some time before noon Monday, the suspect went to the house with a rifle and shot Janice, his mother-in-law and then himself. His grandmother-in-law was also at the house, but police say she was not hurt.

Police say the grandmother did not hear anything and discovered the bodies in the back bedroom.

Relatives and friends were aware of Janice's situation and would watch the street, trying to protect her from her husband. But they say they had no idea it would come to this.
