Dallas PD Officer Arrested For DWI For Second Time
A Dallas police officer has been charged in Arlington with drunken driving in his second such arrest since December.
Arlington police say 47-year-old Senior Corporal Billy Ailey was arrested early yesterday after officers received a 911 call about a possible drunk driver. A police spokesman says that after his vehicle was stopped, Ailey refused to provide a breath sample. He was forced to provide a blood sample at a local hospital after police obtained a warrant.
Ailey he's now free on $1,000 bond.
Ailey's been a Dallas police officer for 23 years. He was arrested in December on a DWI charge and placed on administrative leave after that arrest, then was assigned to the communications division. A Dallas police spokesman says Ailey's once again on paid leave after yesterday's arrest.
