DPD Officer Wounded In Shootout With Drug Suspects
DALLAS (CBS 11 News) ―
Two people are behind bars and a Dallas narcotics officer is in the hospital after a shootout Thursday night.
Dallas police say undercover officers were serving a narcotics warrant at a suspected drug house. When they approached the door, police say people inside the house started shooting. Officers returned fire and hit two people who were in the house.
The officer who was shot was hit in the leg. He had successful surgery at Baylor Medical Center Friday afternoon. A second officer was injured when he fell down during the chaos, but he was not seriously hurt.
Police have made two arrests in the case. Marcus Moss and Sharon Edwards Smith are both in the Dallas County jail.
