2-Year-Old Dallas Shooting Still Unsolved
DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
A woman who was shot several times two years ago and survived talked about her ordeal today.
Dallas Police are still searching for a suspect.
"He was closer to me than you are when he shot me," said Cheryl Lydick. "He wanted the keys. He wanted in the safe."
In July of 2006 inside the Pleasant Oaks Recreation Center in Southeast Dallas, surveillance cameras caught the images of a masked man assaulting Lydick's coworker.
The cameras don't show him shooting at Lydick 15 times. Four bullets hit her.
Lydick says the suspect called her by name.
But to this day, police don't know who was behind the mask.
Lydick is certain someone knows.
The suspect may be 20 to 25 years old today. Police say it's clear he was familiar with the Pleasant Oaks Rec Center.
Lydick and Dallas Police want him off the street.
If you have any information about this case, you're asked to call North Texas Crime Stoppers at 877-373-TIPS. There is a reward of $10,000 for anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this shooting.
