14-Year-Old Leads Dallas Police On Chase

(CBS/AP) A 14-year-old teen allegedly threatened to kill his mother during a chase with Dallas police that ended after Fort Worth police used spikes to flatten the car's tires.

No injuries were reported and no weapon was found in the car.

Police said in a statement that last night's chase started in Dallas after the teen got into an argument with his 38-year-old mother.

After she tried to stop him from taking her car, he took it and allegedly refused to let her get out.

She called 911 and the teen led police on a chase on Interstate 30 headed west. The hour-long chase continued through Irving, Grand Prairie, Arlington before ending in Fort Worth.

Dallas police said the teen allegedly attempted to slam on his brakes in order to cause police to crash into him.

Police told CBS 11 the young driver caused as many as three accidents in Dallas. Police also said he backed into at least one police car before he was taken into custody.

He faces possible charges of kidnapping and aggravated assault with a motor vehicle and authorities said they cannot identify the teen because of his age.
