Cast Celebrates 30th 'DALLAS' Anniversary

PARKER (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― It's been 30 years since the now ubiquitous music and video of "Big D" introduced Dallas to the world.  On Saturday night, the stars of the iconic TV drama 'DALLAS' gathered at Southfork Ranch in Parker to look back and celebrate one of television's most watched series.

The cast, including 77-year-old Larry Hagman, walked down the red carpet.  "J. R." thrilled fans with a good old Texas yelp.

Dallas has been off the air since 1991.  Despite being off the air for 17 seasons fans from all over the world flocked to Southfork, paying as much as $1,000 to shake the hands of the stars.

David Glass is a fan that flew to Dallas from England.  "It's folklore, it's legend."

Legend yes, but still fresh in the memories of the cast.

Patrick Duffy, who played Bobby on the series, told CBS 11 "It feels like we should go to work instead of at a party like this, it feels like we should be memorizing our lines.  Although we never memorized our lines then, don't know why we should start now."

Linda Gray, known to the world as Sue Ellen Ewing, remembered her time on the show.  "I think it was a special time.  It was a time when there weren't a hundred million channels and the internet and all of the other things that came to existence."
