Dallas Fire-Rescue officials say Lori Velasquez fell into a Dallas lake while boating with her husband. She never resurfaced.

The family of Lori Velasquez can't understand how she drowned just 75 yards from the shore. They say Velasquez, of Irving, had grown up around the water and spent three years in the U.S. Navy.
"She's a real good swimmer," said Mark Buchholz, her brother-in-law. "And that's part of what the family is trying to find out."
Last night, Dallas Fire Rescue crews responded to an emergency call at a small lake in Northeast Dallas, near Loop 12 and Northwest Highway.
They found Velasquez's husband, David, clinging to a small boat in the water. He told police he and his wife had been drinking and wanted to try out their new boat. He said stood up and the boat capsized. Both fell into the frigid water, he said.
"The husband was unable to continue holding onto the wife," said DFR's Jason Evans. "She went under and never came up."
Crews spent the day searching the lake for Lori Velasquez's body.
And Dallas Police are investigating.
"Homicide is now involved in the investigation," said Lt. Craig Miller. "Looking to see exactly what happened."
Dallas Fire-Rescue said there were no lifejackets on the boat.
David Velasquez was at the lake today, but didn't want to talk to us.
Meanwhile, her other family members hope investigators can find some answers.
"So far, we're getting mixed answers and changes of stories constantly," Buchholz said.
