DPD Arrests Man For Death Of Toddler Left In Van

DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― An arrest has been made in the death of a 19-month-old girl who died after being left in a daycare van for six hours this summer.

Dallas detectives arrested Darius Matthews Friday night on one charge of injury to a child.

He was an employee of Tyne Gifted Achievers daycare and was driving the daycare's van when little Kamila Brown was left in the vehicle in late July.

After an extensive investigation, Child Protective Services ordered the daycare to shut down both of its locations. The centers are located at 2411 Emmitt and 3111 Dutton in Dallas.
