Showers and thunderstorms continue to develop in North Texas. The only severe storm is Montague and Cooke County producing quarter size hail. A few more of these storms could produce marginally severe hail over the next several hours. After these showers move out later tonight, more storms will arrive tomorrow.
Storms continue in West Texas and are starting to congeal into more of a complex of storms. This complex is expected to push eastward overnight tonight. There should be a weakening trend with these storms as they move into our far western counties after 3am. Some indications are that they will completely fall apart for they reach DFW. But more storms will initiate late in the morning and early in the afternoon over Dallas and Fort Worth. These could be severe.
Storms will continue into the evening in most locations. What is happening in west Texas this evening could be an example of what will happen here with storms moving pretty much from south to north and redeveloping in the same locations. This could lead to a heavy rain threat along with hail and high wind threat.
Storms will still be possible on Saturday especially from a line from Sherman to Denton to Fort Worth to Stephenville to the south and east. Heavy rain is the main threat along with hail and damaging winds.
Rain chances finally end Saturday night as a cold front pushes through. It will be cool and breezy on Sunday with temperatures in the upper 60's.
