2nd Pizza Delivery Driver Attacked In Fort Worth

By Sana Syed
FORT WORTH (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Another Domino's delivery driver was attacked while he was on the job in Fort Worth.

This time it happened Tuesday night in the 600 block of Judkins Street, just miles away from where another Domino's delivery man was brutally beaten by three men with a bat three weeks ago.

Fort Worth police say those three men were arrested.  Officers say three different men attacked John Seymour around 6:00 Tuesday night.

We talked to Seymour on Wednesday.  He limped as he came to answer the knock at his door.  "How would you feel having a baseball bat and golf club swung at you?" he said.

He said he thinks the men followed him on foot when they saw his car.  One had a bat, another had a golf club and the third man did not have a weapon.

Seymour told us he did not want to go on camera because he was worried more people will get ideas to attack pizza delivery drivers. Seymour said the two women to whom he was delivering pizzas yelled at the men after they heard the commotion.  "I don't know what they [the thieves] were after. These ladies scared them off," recalled Seymour.

Parlee Proctor and Ruth King ordered a pizza around 5:30 Tuesday evening. After 45 minutes they still didn't have a pizza, but they heard men yelling outside.

Both women looked out the window and say they saw Seymour on the ground. That's when Proctor ran outside. "I said, 'I don't what ya'll doing out there, but ya'll better stop it'.  So, two went that direction; the other went this way," Proctor said.

Seymour told police one of the men had him in a tight grip, but then the man's bat fell to the ground.

King watched as Seymour tried to fight back. "I seen when the boy was pulling the baseball bat, telling him to let it go and he was steady holding the baseball bat, fighting for his life."

Seymour said if it wasn't for those women, "it coulda been a hell of a lot worse."

Seymour walked away with a bruised leg.

The attackers stole two pizzas and didn't get away with any money. Officials with Domino's say no driver can carry more than $20 at any time.

All three men are still on the run.
