5-Year-Old Girl Drowns In Plano Pool

PLANO (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Another child has drowned at a North Texas community pool.

The Plano Fire Department says a 5-year old girl drowned on Tuesday evening, June 23rd.

Fire Department crews were called to the pool at 4716 Blackshear Trail in the Community of Preston Lake neighborhood at approximately 8:45 p.m.  

The child was transported to Medical Center of Plano where she was declared dead shortly after 9:00 pm.

A 1-year-old Arlington boy also drowned last night.  Damion Salazar drowned in the pool at his house.

And the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services says a 5-year-old boy drowned in a public pool in Allen last week.

The department says as of today, 55 children have drowned statewide in 2009.
