FWPD: Men Offered To Help Woman Before Robbing Her

FORT WORTH (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Fort Worth police are looking for two men who attacked and robbed a disabled woman on her way home from a doctor's appointment.

Margaret Tudor doesn't have a car, so she walks or takes the bus everywhere she goes.

"I broke my back in a car wreck, and I have congestive heart failure," she explained.

Tudor, 56, walks with a cane is accompanied by a Chihuahua named Baby Girl. The dog signals when Tudor is about to have a seizure.

Monday afternoon she got off at a stop on McCart Avenue in south Fort Worth. She was having trouble keeping her balance as she tried to cross railroad tracks near Interstate 20.

That's when she says two young men approached her and offered to help. "They held Baby Girl for me so I had more balance," she said. "The other one held my hand and helped me come across."

The Good Samaritans quickly changed their tune once everyone was on the other side. Tudor says one of them pulled out a gun.

She responded by saying, "Oh guys. Please don't do this to me. Please."

That didn't help. Tudor said one of the guys knocked her dog to the ground and pushed her onto a concrete barrier. "I'm black and blue from what they did to me," she said.

The robbers pulled Tudor's purse off her neck and took off.

"They didn't say anything. They were just hauling tail down the railroad tracks," she said. "I was totally beside myself. I couldn't believe it happened to me."

Tudor said her identification, her bus pass and her service dog certification were all in her purse. Now she says she's sacred to go home.

Police have been patrolling the railroad tracks, but they have not found the robbers. Tudor doesn't have a lot of money, but she said she is offering rewards up to $250 if she gets her purse back and the robbers are caught and prosecuted.
