MESQUITE (CBS 11 News) ―
Mesquite police are warning citizens about criminals targeting check cashing businesses.
Tuesday, police released the emergency call one of the victims made after she was robbed.
"I just drove up to my driveway and this guy went out from behind my garage and pulled a gun on me and took my money," said a terrified woman to an emergency operator.
Two men had followed her from a check cashing business in Fort Worth all the way to Mesquite where she was robbed of $900.
"He was pointing a gun to the back of my neck saying, 'Give me you wallet,'" the woman continued on the emergency call. "I had just cashed my check."
Her description of the armed robbers got to Mesquite police quickly. They were able to spot the suspect's vehicle soon after the robbery.
The arrests of 20-year-old Chad Allen Walls and 21-year-old Troy Joseph Mack were caught on tape. They surrendered after the elaborate robbery unraveled.
Police say anyone leaving a back, ATM or check cashing business should keep an eye out for suspicious vehicles.
