Things To Do For Less Than $21: The Fort Worth Zoo

FORT WORTH (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Its summer and CBS 11/TXA 21 wants to help you save money and have fun with the family at the same time. As part of our '21 Things You Can Do For Under $21' why not check out half-price Wednesday's at the Fort Worth Zoo.

Some of the exhibits include the indoor 'Back in Black' Penguin exhibit. There you can see more than 15 African black-footed penguins. Visitors can also enjoy the animals from an underwater viewing tank.

There's also a 2.5 acre World of Primates exhibit. Zoo officials say the outdoor facility brings the sights and sound of the rainforest alive. While walking through guests can visit chimpanzees, black-and-white colobus monkeys and gorillas.

There are a number of other exhibits, including the Raptor Canyon, Australian Outback and Meerkat Mounds, for visitors to enjoy.

The Fort Worth Zoo is currently working with 35 endangered species through the American Zoo and Aquarium Association's Species Survival Plans.

One half-rice Wednesday's adult tickets are $5.25, tickets for seniors are $3.50, children ages 3-12 are $4.00 and kids two years and under get in free.

The Fort Worth Zoo is open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday, through October 17th.
