Boy Dies After Hit-And-Run At Dallas Garage Sale

DALLAS (CBS 11 News) ― Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck a Dallas toddler at a garage sale.

Witnesses said about seven children were playing in the yard when David Hernandez --  who would have turned 2 this summer -- wandered closer to the street and was playing near a grey truck.

When the female driver got back in her truck, neighbors said she hit the little boy as she drove away from the house.

"The whole family was screaming like 'stop, stop, stop!' and she just drove off and the front tires ran over him as well as the back tires," explained neighbor Darius Wiley.

Neighbors chased after the truck, but the driver kept going, they said. 

The boy was taken to the hospital, where he died Saturday night.
