The bodies of 32-year-old Robyn Richter and 35-year-old Shawna Ferris were found in an SUV Saturday morning. Police say both had been shot in the head.
Monday, investigators said there did not appear to be a struggle and the women's purses were with them in the vehicle.
Police discovered the SUV parked outside Miyako Japanese Restaurant. A restaurant employee said she talked to the women near closing time and both seemed to be having a "relaxing evening."
Both Richter and Ferris talked about loving life on their MySpace web pages. According to friends, both had been through hard times.
"They met in a women's shelter," said Sandy Tidwell-Gilmore, one of Richter's co-workers. "They were both in the shelter in the same time."
According to Hood County Sheriff's reports, Richter said a particular person had threatened her last September. In the report, she said the person told her, "Remember I have gun and bullets and I will use them."
The sheriff's report goes on to say the case lacked elements for any criminal offense.
In another report, Richter said the same person broke into her house and left a knife in her pillow. That case was also closed.
Richter worked as a clerk for the Hood County tax assessor's office. Monday, co-workers put a wreath on the door in her memory.
"She was just somebody that made you laugh whether you wanted to or not," said Tidwell-Gilmore. "She came up with zingers and made people feel good when they'd come in."
Richter leaves behind a daughter and a son. Co-workers say her children are with her parents. Ferris leaves behind an 8-year-old daughter.
Police say they do not have a suspect or a motive at this time.
