Granbury Police Identify Bodies Found In SUV

Seema Mathur
(CBS 11 News) A murder mystery continues to unfold in a small North Texas community.

Granbury police found the bodies of two women slumped over in an SUV Saturday night. Both women had been shot in the head.

Police identified the women as 32-year-old Robyn Richter and 35-year-old Shawna Ferris.

Sandy Tidwell Gilmore worked with Richter and described her as "the most bubbly person in our office." She also said she heard Richter talk about going out Friday evening.

The last place Richter and Ferris were seen alive was at a Japanese restaurant. A restaurant employee, too scared to be identified, was one of the last people to talk to the women.

"They were happy. They seemed like really nice people and just wanted to have a good time," said the employee. "I think they were out for a relaxing evening."

The women had parked their SUV outside the restaurant, and that's where police found their bodies the next morning.

"The way they were killed it was horrible," said Tidwell Gilmore. "She's going to be so dearly missed."

Tidwell Gilmore remembers Richter as a great single mother. "Her son had bought her a barbeque for Father's Day because he told her she was both his mother and father."

Police were back at the crime scene Sunday trying to get more answers. At this time, however, police do not know why the womens' lives ended this way.
