PD: Woman Found Dead In Richardson Was Dismembered

WARNING: Story Contains Graphic Details

RICHARDSON (CBS 11 News/ AP) ― Police have released the identity of a woman killed Saturday morning in a Richardson home.

The dismembered body of 20-year-old Ivonne Zamudio of Dallas was found inside three plastic bags at house in the 5700 block of Kensington Drive. The house belongs to 51-year-old James Matisi.

Police arrested Matisi, 44-year-old Timothy Jones and 33-year-old Eric Ziegler Saturday morning. Detectives say Zamudio was an acquaintance of one of the men.

The three men allegedly cut up Zamudio's body into several pieces. Police say her legs were cut off from the thigh and severed below the knee caps. One of her arms was also cut off. According to police, Zamudio had several tattoos removed by a knife.

The victim was decapitated, say police. According to reports, her eyes were gauged out and her scalp was removed.

Matisi's 10-year-old son called police to report a disturbance, according to reports. Police are still trying to determine if the 10-year-old actually witnessed the murder or was in another room at the time.

When officers arrived at the home, detectives say they found the three men inside the home with the dismembered body.

Police Sgt. Kevin Perlich described the scene was "gruesome." He said no motive has been determined for the slaying.

According to the search warrant, drug paraphernalia was found inside the home. Police believe the three suspects and the victim were all smoking crack.

As of Monday afternoon, all three of the men were still in the Richardson city jail. Each is charged with murder and each are being held on a $1 million bond.

The boy who called in the killing is in the custody of Child Protective Services.
