Autopsy Does Not Surprise Murdered Woman's Family

Report Details Murder-Suicide Involving Steroids Dealer David Jacobs, Former Girlfriend

Family Says Woman One Of Few Friends Of Convicted Steroids Dealer

PLANO (CBS 11 EXCLUSIVE) ― "She's amazing, she's an amazing woman and I don't know that she knew how many people were inspired by her and that so many people paid attention to her life," her sister, Brandy Cooke, said in their first television interview.

It's been two months since Amanda Earhart-Savell was shot and killed by her former boyfriend, David Jacobs, a convicted steroids dealer.

Savell's family wanted to speak out about the daughter and sister they cherished so much.

As CBS 11 first reported, federal agents and Plano police raided his Plano house in April 2007.

On Tuesday, Collin County's medical examiner released the autopsies.

They showed Jacobs shot Savell seven times -- once in the head, five times in the chest and once in the back. She also had contusions on her forehead and thigh.

Jacobs' autopsy showed he had a history of long-term steroid use, had an elevated testosterone level and at the time of his death had three steroids in his system, including nandrolone, a substance various athletes have been accused of taking.

"It doesn't make me happy … it's not a shock," her sister said.

Savell's family said Jacob was enraged that she had other boyfriends and friends.

Cooke said her sister was one of a few who still spoke with Jacobs because she hoped to help him.

"It just won't go away," her still-grieving mother, Kathy Earhart said. "She was our future, but she didn't have a chance to have a child, you know?"

There were no steroids in Savell's system, but tests showed she had a small amount of amphetamine, a stimulant found many in weight loss pills.
