Frisco PD Releases Video Of Jewelry Store Robbery
FRISCO (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
Frisco police are searching for a group of robbers who held up a jewelry store at Stonebriar Centre mall Tuesday morning.
They are hoping newly released surveillance video and photos from the robbery will help track the robbers down. The robbery happened around 10:20 a.m., minutes after the mall opened. According to an employee of the Ben Bridge jewelry store, four men walked into the store and ordered everyone to get on the ground.
Frisco police say the men used mallets to smash the cases at Ben Bridge Jewelers. The suspects didn't display a weapon and nobody was injured. The men got away with an unknown amount of jewelry before police arrived. The store was closed while police interviewed witnesses and employees. One interesting note - t
he robbery happened at a store in the middle of the mall. So, if the suspects entered through a normal entrance, they would have had to walk through the mall to get in and out. Just two months ago another Ben Bridge jewelry store was robbed.
On June 2, five men entered the store at NorthPark Center in Dallas. Police say they had sledgehammers hidden under their coats and used them to smash three display cases.
The men escaped from the NorthPark store with more than $250,000 in designer watches.
There's no word from police if the two crimes might be related.
