Jonas Brothers Tickets... For A Penny

ARLINGTON (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― It's kind of like winning the lottery. If you're an eight-year-old girl, that is. Scoring tickets to the Jonas Brothers concert for a penny!

It happened for an Arlington family, thanks to a new local website. "I was really excited," says Kinley Brown.

At first Kinley's parents didn't think they'd be able to take her to see the Jonas Brothers. "It was out of budget, definitely out of budget," says Karen Brown.

Then Kinley's mother saw a pair of tickets up for auction on a website called DFWBID.COM." I had bid a couple of times, a couple of hours," Karen explains.

The bids had topped $57, so Karen decided to click on something called the "penny buy" button. Two math questions popped up on her computer screen.

"The one was 100 minus 21. Of course, I had to pull out the calculator," says Karen laughing. "The other one was 7 times 1, so I just answered both of those and it just said you could purchase for a penny and the auction was over."

She ended up getting two floor seats worth a total of $190 for a single cent.

The website creator, Sanj Raj says the penny buy is available at random times during auctions.

"You answer a few questions in about 15 seconds and then you get to purchase for a penny."

"I was screaming, jumping around," says Kinley. "She was screaming to the top of her lungs she was so excited," adds her mother.

The website requires users to purchase credits in order to join the bidding. Overall, Karen Brown says she spent a total of $15.
